Youthpreneurs

Youthpreneurs is an innovative entrepreneurship and enterprise development programme that empowers young people to transform ideas into action. Through a combination of engaging workshops and individually tailored one-to-one mentoring, participants are supported to identify opportunities, develop entrepreneurial skills, and create viable business ideas that reflect their interests, passions, and ambitions.

Designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and self-belief, Youthpreneurs helps young people understand that entrepreneurship is not simply about starting a business, it is about recognising opportunities, solving problems, creating value, and developing the mindset needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.

The programme can be delivered in both school and community settings, with content adapted to meet the needs, aspirations, and experiences of different groups of young people.

What participants will explore

The programme consists of six themed modules, each delivered over five weekly sessions of 100 minutes, creating a transformational leadership journey that develops different dimensions of personal growth and leadership capability.

Discovering the entrepreneurial mindset

Participants are introduced to the qualities and characteristics that underpin successful entrepreneurs, including creativity, resilience, initiative, adaptability, problem-solving, and leadership. Through practical activities and real-world examples, young people begin to recognise these qualities within themselves and develop confidence in their ability to create and innovate.

Building enterprise skills

The programme develops a range of transferable skills that are valuable regardless of future career aspirations. These include communication, teamwork, critical thinking, financial awareness, planning, presentation skills, decision-making, and project management.

Identifying opportunities

Young people explore the challenges, needs, and opportunities that exist within their communities and wider society. They learn how entrepreneurs identify problems worth solving and begin generating ideas that align with their interests, skills, and passions.

Understanding business fundamentals

Participants gain an introduction to the practical aspects of launching and managing a venture, including branding, marketing, budgeting, pricing, customer engagement, and responsible business practices. Concepts are delivered in an accessible and age-appropriate way, ensuring young people can confidently apply what they learn.

Developing a business idea

Participants are guided through the process of refining and shaping their ideas into realistic business concepts. They explore topics such as understanding customers, defining products or services, creating value, and differentiating themselves from competitors.

Personalised one-to-one mentoring

A distinctive feature of Youthpreneurs is the opportunity for participants to receive personalised mentoring tailored to their individual goals and aspirations.

Mentoring sessions provide young people with dedicated support to:

  • Refine and develop their business ideas.

  • Build confidence in their abilities and ambitions.

  • Overcome challenges and barriers.

  • Set realistic goals and action plans.

  • Develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

  • Access guidance, encouragement, and accountability throughout their journey.

This personalised approach ensures that each participant receives the support they need to progress at their own pace and maximise their potential.

From idea to launch

As participants develop confidence and clarity around their business concepts, they are supported to create a practical roadmap for bringing their ideas to life. Depending on the needs of the individual or group, this may include developing a simple business plan, creating a brand identity, testing ideas with potential customers, or presenting their venture to peers, educators, community stakeholders, or local business leaders.

The programme celebrates innovation, initiative, and progress, helping young people see that entrepreneurship is not reserved for adults or experienced professionals - it is a pathway that is accessible to anyone with an idea, determination, and the willingness to learn.
